Die  ÖH der Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien ist entrüstet über das Vorgehen des Rektorats der Universität Wien und kritisiert auch das Scheuklappenverhalten des Wissenschaftsministers Töchterle

Die autoritäre und neoliberale Hochschulpolitik an der Universität Wien zeigt mit der geplanten Abschaffung des Bachelor-Studiengangs „Internationale Entwicklung“ und der Repression der letzten Tage wieder einmal ihr wahres Gesicht.

Das über ein Jahrzehnt erkämpfte Studium „Internationale Entwicklung“ an der Universität Wien steht in der derzeitigen Form vor dem Aus. An der „IE“ wurde ab 2002, größtenteils von Lehrenden und Student_innen selbstorganisiert, ein Studiengang ins Leben gerufen der im deutschsprachigen Raum seinesgleichen sucht.
Lehrveranstaltungen wie „Soziale Bewegungen und sozialer Wandel“, „Geschlecht als (westliches) Konstrukt ? (Euro-)Zentrismuskritische, queere und postkoloniale Perspektiven auf Geschlecht“ und etwa „Rohstoffimperialismus“ zeigen, dass es sich hier um ein Studium handelt, in dem  Praxen der kritischen Erkenntnis, vor den herrschenden neoliberalen Bildungsbegriff gestellt werden.

Seit 2008 wurden immer wieder Protestmaßnahmen unternommen um einen vollwertigen Diplomstudiengang durchzusetzen. Nach den massiven “#unibrennt“ Universitätsprotesten 2009 wurden seitens des Rektorats zwar Zugeständnisse gemacht, die Lehre an der IE basierte aber immer noch überwiegend auf Unterricht durch externe Lehrende in prekären Arbeitssituationen.
Das nun mit der Argumentation der Ressourcenknappheit ausgerechnet dieses Studium seitens des Rektorats der Universität Wien zu einem elitären Masterstudiengang tranformiert werden soll, bei dem etwa 80 Mitarbeiter_innen ihre Stelle verlieren werden, ist  nicht nur eine marktpolitische,  sondern vor allem eine klar politische Entscheidung.
Die Antworten seitens der Student_innen (der IE) sah mensch vor allem die letzten Tage.
Am Donnerstag Vormittag wurde das Rektorat der Uni Wien besetzt. Am Abend gab es eine Spontan-Demonstration die in mehreren Hörsaal-Besetzungen mündete.
Die Reaktion des Rektorats war ein mehrmaliger angeordneter Einsatz des Sondereinsatzkommando der Polizei zur Räumung, die Schließung des gesamten Hauptgebäudes der Uni Wien, sowie der Order an die “Ordnungshüter_innen“, dass alle Matrikelnummern der geräumten Studierenden erfasst werden sollen.
Etwa genau 2 ½ Jahre nach den massiven Protesten gegen den neoliberalen Umbau der Hochschulen in Österreich, scheint es wieder an der Zeit, den hohlen Worten der (Uni-)Politker_innen entschlossene Taten folgen zu lassen.
Um gegen die geplante Wiedererinführung von Studiengebühren für Alle und für die Ausfinanzierung des Studiums “Internationale Entwicklung“ klare Position zu beziehen, unterstützt die ÖH die aufkommenden Proteste!
Die Situation an der IE sind symptomatisch für die Auswirkungen der Politik Töchterles, der Ministerien vergangener Perioden und nur ein Vorzeichen dafür, was sich in der Universitätslandschaft in näherer Zukunft noch ereignen wird. Wir positionieren uns klar gegen eine neoliberale Ausrichtung der Universitäten und ein Betrachten von Studierenden hinsichtlich ihrer marktpolitischen Verwertbarkeit.
Wir meinen auch, dass die Grenze des Erträglichen schon längst überschritten ist, und unterstützen den Aufruf zu einer Kundgebung am 26. April 2012 um 14Uhr vor dem Hauptgebäude der Uni Wien.
Am 26. April soll die Senatssitzung stattfinden, in der über die Studiengebühren, sowie über die Abschaffung der Bachelorstudiengangs Internationale Entwicklung entschieden werden soll.
Wenn die representativen Organe der Universität glauben Entscheidungen ohne der (betroffenen) Studierenden treffen zu wollen, werden sie heuer eines Besseren belehrt.

Hiermit solidarisieren wir uns mit den Besetzer_innen, den Protestierenden, sowie allen Studierenden der Internationalen Entwicklung.

Was bleibt, sind ein katastrophaler Budgetplan von Finanzministerin Maria Fekter und eine Hochschulfinanzierung, die wohl zum endgültigen Ende des freien Hochschulzugangs führen wird – wenn nicht ein gehöriger Aufstand oder ein Wunder geschieht.

Wie es aussieht, wenn Menschen selbst Freiräume organisieren, in denen Bildung stattfindet, zeigen zwei neu gegründeten Initiativen.

Seit dem Wintersemester 2011 gibt es an der Akademie der bildenden Künste eine freie Klasse. Die Initiator_innen sehen „die Freie Klasse als Plattform, auf der wir durch die eigenverantwortliche Wahl der Inhalte eine autonome Lehre praktizieren“. Einem immer elitärer werdenden Universitätsmodell stellen sie alternative Zugänge und Dezentralisierung gegenüber. Die freie Klasse dazu: „Das Lehrmodell ist offen und partizipativ. Auf diese Weise lässt es den Spielraum, verschiedene Beteiligte in die Arbeit der Freien Klasse einzubinden.“

Eine weiter selbstverwaltete Bildungsinitiative wurde im Zuge einer Hausbesetzung in der Lindengasse 60 im 7. Bezirk in Wien, unweit der Akademie der bildenden Künste, gegründet. In einem ungenutzten Gebäudekomplex der skandalumwitterten BUWOG findet die „freie Universität Wien“ ihren Platz. Im Gründungsdokument der freien Universität ist zu lesen, dass „im Zuge der permanent untragbaren Situation, in der sich sowohl die österreichische als auch die internationale Bildungslandschaft befindet, verbunden mit der noch untragbareren politischen, gesellschaftlichen und wirtschaftlichen Weltlage,“ die Initiator_innen sich gezwungen fühlen, „die Sache selbst in die Hand zu nehmen.“

“Die aktuelle Besetzung zeigt einmal mehr wie stark der Bedarf an Freiräumen in Wien ist“ so Willi Hejda von der IG Kultur Wien, und weiterführend “irgendwann muss das auch von der Stadtpolitik eingesehen werden, statt zuzusehen wie Haus um Haus geräumt wird und Scheuklappen-Politik zu betreiben oder gar selbst Nutzungen zu verhindern die Begegnungsräume schaffen“.
„Selbstorganisierte Wissensarbeit ist auch eine Anwort auf sich zuspitzende Defizite an den unterfinanzierten Bildungseinrichtungen“, so Petja Dimitrova, Vorsitzende der IG Bildende Kunst: „Forderungen nach ausreichend Geld für Wissensarbeit, (Re-)Demokratisierung der Universitäten, Abschaffung von fremdenrechtlichen Barrieren sowie gute Arbeitsbedingungen bleiben aber dennoch zentrale Forderungen gegen die zunehmenden Prekarisierung – nicht nur, aber auch – von Studierenden, Lehrenden und Forschenden“.
„Beide Initiativen zeigen mit ihrem offenen Anspruch, dass freie Bildung für alle keine Utopie von gestern sein muss“, begrüßt das Vorsitzteam der ÖH der Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien diese und andere Projekte, bei denen Menschen ihre Bildung selber in die Hand nehmen.
